Nintendo Switch Lite can play all Nintendo Switch games that support handheld mode. The system is ideal for those who like to play on the go, and for those who want to play online or locally with friends or family who already own a Nintendo Switch.
Since the Nintendo Switch Lite is specifically made for handheld gaming, you cannot connect it to a TV.
On the Nintendo Switch Lite you can play all Nintendo Switch games that support handheld mode.
This is how you find out if a game can be played in handheld mode.
If a game supports Joy-Con features such as HD rumble, IR Motion Camera, and motion controls, you will not be able to use certain features using Nintendo Switch Lite alone. Joy-Con controllers (sold separately) are required to use such features.
To play games that do not support handheld mode, you can wirelessly connect Joy-Con controllers (sold separately) to Nintendo Switch Lite. You will also need a device capable of charging Joy-Con controllers, such as the Joy-Con Charging Grip. Check the Nintendo eShop or the back of a game’s packaging for information on supported play modes.
Players can connect up to eight Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite systems together to play multiplayer games together or against each other.
With a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can play with friends and other players around the world. You'll have access to a growing library of classic NES games with added online features.
